 Learning Journal (Tapestry)

We use Tapestry, which is an online learning journal to document and assess your child's progress that is shared with individual parents using a secure login for. We use Tapestry to collate observations, photographs and videos so you can see how we are tracking their progress and how much fun they have at Nursery with all their friends.  This is interactive and allows parents to submit their own observations or special moments for the key person to see.

As highlighted by Freidrich Froebel who stated outside play and interaction with nature is key for young childrens’ learning and development. This follows our ethos for outside learning. Our aim is allow the children to investigate nature around them and to see where their food comes from by growing their own vegetables and fruit trees. Whilst teaching the children sustainability by using 'environmental green methods.'

The above is achieved with two outside play areas, one with an open door policy accessible at all times. The second will be focused on natural learning, growing and play.

The Early Years Foundation Stage  also includes divisions of children’s learning and development into three prime areas and four specific areas, which we detail in Prime Areas Page and Specific Areas Page
